We'll be sailing a Moorings 48.4, new to The Moorings' fleet in 2016. This boat is a Beneteau Oceanis 48 by another name. Here is what The Moorings' website says about this boat ...

Few boats balance the thrill of sailing with the comfort of home quite like the Moorings 48.4. Designed by Berret-Racoupeau and brought to life by Beneteau, this versatile monohull features four cabins, each with an en-suite bathroom, and a spacious layout ideal for eight guests.

Inside, large portholes illuminate the 48.4’s air-conditioned interior. The saloon includes a u-shaped settee around a convertible drop-down table, a flat screen TV, and a well-appointed galley with everything you need for dining at sea — from a two-burner gas cooker to a refrigerator, sink, and storage for included cookware. Light taupe cushions are complimented by contemporary oak-colored woodwork amplifying the ambiance of this stylish yacht.

Outside, the Moorings 48.4 features an electronically controlled opening transom that converts to a convenient swim platform, while the mainsail arch and centered mast allow for increased stability and comfort in a variety of conditions. Handling is a breeze with dual helms and all lines led aft to the cockpit. A Raymarine navigation system, electric windlass, electric winches, bow thruster, and 75-hp Yanmar diesel engine round out this fully equipped yacht.

One clever innovation is the electric fold-down transom, which adds another 3 feet of length to the already expansive cockpit when the boat’s anchored or moored.
